Rezz Releases “H E X” With 1788-L

Leading into the release of CERTAIN KIND OF MAGIC, her second artist album due out August 3 on mau5trap, Canadian electronic producer REZZ has made available her new single “H E X” today, June 29. Joining her on the new song is new artist 1788-L.
“H E X is one of my heavier tracks,” said REZZ. “It was one of the easiest and most fluid collaborations I have ever done.”
Shrouded in mystique, 1788-L has enraptured the world of dance music with intense and sudden ferocity. In addition to defying classification, the self-proclaimed android has maintained a relentless output, releasing five original productions, four remixes, and a special collaboration with Illenium and Said The Sky, debuted at Coachella, all within four months – and in such a short time, 1788-L has already become a ubiquitous part of countless DJ sets, garnering early support from Seven Lions, RL Grime, Ekali, and many more.
CERTAIN KIND OF MAGIC-which also features collaborations with emerging artists like Deathpact, Kotek, 13 and Fytch, adding to the battery of her menacing productions–follows REZZ‘ 2017 full-length debut Mass Manipulation (mau5trap) which brimmed with the innovative singles and collaborations that consistently portray the menacing soundscapes she is known for and truly showcased her forward-thinking and unique mentality.

Mexican DJ Duo Tom & Collins Reveal Music Video For “Only One”

When Mexican house duo Tom & Collins met singer and songwriter Rachel West during a visit to Los Angeles, the creativity just flowed. Together, after hours spent bouncing ideas off one another and experimenting in the studio, they released “Only One,” a gorgeous, funky gem that incorporates guitars and a thick, driving bassline.

Now, fans can feast their eyes on the official music video, which follows the journey of a mysterious celluloid phantom as it ventures out of a lush tropical forest and across different scenes of city life in Mexico. Across the adventure, one is forced to question just what the phantom figure might be and what it could be searching for – life? A new beginning? Home? Watch the video and decide for yourself.

Having catapulted into the limelight with their #1 HypeM official remix of Sofi Tukker’s “Hey Lion” alongside official remixes of Madonna, Ariana Grande, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Azalea Banks and Iggy Azalea, Tom & Collins have performed at some the world’s largest festivals including EDC Vegas, Beyond Wonderland, Mayan Madness in Tulum and Holi Fest of Colors in Mexico. They were the first Mexican DJs to play at the Latin Grammys official after party in Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Above & Beyond Reveal Anjunabeach Festival in Mexico’s Riviera Maya

With Anjunabeach excitement at an all time high as the one day festival arrives in Southern California this Saturday, Above & Beyond are excited to reveal their next Anjunabeach endeavour – a multi-day party in a Mexican beach paradise: Riviera Maya.

Situated on the idyllic, ancient Mayan coastline, this exclusive and all-inclusive weekender will see Above & Beyond host three days of electronic music on the beach, giving fans the chance to escape the outside world for a few days and connect with their global Anjunafamily.

With luxury packages starting from $1,589 per person and payment plans available, fans need only worry about their airfare, with the rest of the weekend managed by destination experience experts, CID Presents. An extremely limited amount of packages are available, fans who sign-up for pre-sale at anjunabeach.mx will be able to secure their spot in Mexico a day before the general public.

Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki are the Grammy-nominated, dance music powerhouse Above & Beyond. With a career spanning two decades, Above & Beyond’s music soundtracks the lives of millions, their sometimes plaintive, always euphoric electronic anthems sung back at them from the dance floors of arenas on all five continents. Armed with a catalogue of cult songs that celebrate life, love and loss, the trio most recently released their fourth studio album, Common Ground, which hit number three on the Billboard Album Chart earlier this year. The rise and rise of Above & Beyond and their ever-growing ‘Anjunafamily’ of fans is underpinned by a single word: connection. In times of division, Jono, Tony and Paavo’s cult-like following is articulated by a simple mantra: music unites us all.

For over 15 years, Above & Beyond have championed rising stars of electronic music, with their iconic Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels throwing acts as diverse as Mat Zo, Audien, Arty, ilan Bluestone, Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto and Seven Lions into the limelight. With both imprints hosting sell-out tours and festival stages across the globe, what began as a meeting of minds at University has become a curatorial flagbearer for forward-thinking dance floors, from the mainstage to the after-hours warehouse.

At Anjunabeach Riviera Maya, Above & Beyond will perform three unique sets that will encompass the trio’s full range and vision: from ambient, to deep to peak time. Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep will each host their own showcases, promising an all-star lineup of talent, which will be revealed very soon, for this inaugural Anjunafamily beach getaway.

Above & Beyond commented: “Since ABGT250 at The Gorge we’ve been dreaming up ways to recapture the magic of bringing fans together from all over the world for unique experiences. We’re excited to be able to give our Anjunafamily the chance to meet up with like-minded souls and enjoy great music in such a beautiful location.”

Fans can stay at the event’s host resort, the Barceló Maya, or opt for one of several carefully selected tropical resorts and enjoy royal treatment all weekend long – all-inclusive food and drink, 24-hour concierge service, daily on-site activities, as well as offsite adventures like visiting Chichen Itza, zip-lining, snorkeling, excursions to Tulum and more.

Each night, concertgoers will descend upon a one of a kind venue, Playa Azul, which was created to both amaze and awe. Once inside guests will experience traditional and not-so-traditional entertainment as they wander to the main stage, which sits on a beautiful stretch of beach just feet from the Caribbean. Fans can also enjoy regional fare including tacos and nightly rotating vegetarian options mixed with some of your favorite snacks and desserts. During non-performance times, fans can enjoy a plethora of activities at each resort, all free of charge. A taste of the activities Barcelo guests can expect to see at the resort include tequila tastings, craft beer tastings, bowling, surfing contests, daily yoga sessions and more. One of the most promising producers in the game is proving yet again why he has the potential to be one of the biggest names in the music industry. NITTI GRITTI has already created the reputation of an artist who won’t be confined to a single genre, and now he’s taken that one step further with his brand new rock music project.  This surprise EP – entitled “Judge Me” – features Nitti Gritti’s production, vocals, and instrumentals, proving once again how unbelievably talented this young producer is. AMFAMFAMF drops into ELECTRIC ZOO: THE BIG 10 at Randall’s Island Park on Saturday, September 1 at the Hilltop Arena. DESTRUCTO–who comes to Electric Zoo in support of his latest release “F**king S**t Up” featuring Busta Rhymes–will be joined by fellow G-House mastermind Wax Motif, Dirtybird favorites Shiba San and Justin Martin, and trap duos Stooki Sound and Deux Twins. Look for a specially curated “All My Friends B2B Set” to close the night.

Established in 2009 by Made Event, the internationally renowned Electric Zoo Festival is one of New York City’s largest music festivals and features the top names in electronic music, bringing a wide variety of acts from around the world and across the spectrum of electronic music’s various sub-genres. International editions of Electric Zoo have taken place in Mexico City, Tokyo, Shanghai and São Paulo, with further expansion underway.

SLANDER Flips Above & Beyond’s “Always”

Riddim” and “heaven” may not be synonymous, but they go together like never before on SLANDER‘s new remix of Above & Beyond‘s “Always.”

SLANDER amps up the original’s delicate, downtempo instrumentals with a percussive buildup and a melodic, dubby bassline – and the result is both dreamy and dance-worthy. The “Always” remix preserves the beauty of Above & Beyond‘s classic track featuring vocals by Zoë Johnston while giving it a fresh spin that is reminiscent of the vocal, ethereal dubstep of the earlier 2000’s.

This is the second track in which SLANDER has deviated to a melodic sound, following their recent release “Slow Motion” with Bret James. “Always” is SLANDER‘s premiere release on Anjunabeats, and we hope it won’t be their last.

SLANDER first made waves in the scene when they debuted their remix of Showtek‘s “We Like to Party” in 2014, coining their unique sound. However, SLANDER has proven they are capable of so much more than remixes and a singular genre.

The duo made waves with their original productions and an evolved sound, as recently evidenced on “Welcome To The Fire” with Sullivan King, “I Can’t Escape” with SAYMYNAME featuring Feli Ferraro and “Happy Now.” Their ability to produce both bass-heavy headbangers and emotionally stirring melodies distinguishes them as talented, multifaceted producers, not to mention their charismatic stage presence.

Together with NGHTMRESLANDER has made their “Gud Vibrations” event concept into a bonafide lifestyle. In 2018 they sold out their Miami Music Week’s Gud Vibrations Boat Party in less than 3 minutes, and continue to branch out and grow their brand.

NGHTMRE and Pell Join Forces For ‘Magic Hour’ EP

Renowned producer NGHTMRE and acclaimed artist Pell join the forces of bass music and hip-hop in their new collaborative Magic Hour EP, released on Diplo‘s Mad Decent.

Featuring two tracks, “Swiss” and “Lights Low,” the EP crosses both genres and moods, combining sensual basslines and provocative lyrics in the bedroom-ready “Lights Low” and then lightening the mood with the feel-good, party-ready vibes of “Swiss.” “Magic Hour” is on trend with the recent movement of fusing bass music and hip-hop, but NGHTMRE and Pell aren’t two that create cookie-cutter music – the tracks are crafted with the sophistication and unique musical soundscapes of artists who are masters at their craft.

To take the immersion one step further, NGHTMRE and Pell filmed a two-part music video for the Magic Hour EP in Japan, where the vivid scenery of the rural pink moss blooms and the neon lights of Tokyo set a stunning backdrop for the EP’s different styles. Through a lens of vibrant, glowing colors and trippy simulations, the video follows Pell, accompanied by NGHTMRE, through a metaphorical transformation to tell the story of ambition, sacrifice, and the duality of life.

NGHTMRE has taken his spot as one of the leading bass producers in the scene through his meticulously earth-shattering productions and equally electrifying live performances. He has been ubiquitous for the past several years through a slew of successful releases, from 2015’s instant hit “Gud Vibrations” to his recent “Another Dimension” collaboration with Dillon FrancisNGHTMRE has been on fire in 2018 thus far, with a massive remix of Flosstradamus‘s “MVP“, a mainstage performance at the iconic EDC Las Vegas, and an Asia tour including EDC ChinaEDC Japan, and Creamfields Beijing.

While NGHTMRE has been a household name in the electronic music world, Pell has been rising in another circuit. When he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina at just fourteen years old, all Pell had to hold on to was the New Orleans-style music he had grown up with. This love quickly translated into a blossoming career; his independently released “Floating While Dreaming” put him on the grid with rave reviews. From there on, Pell continued to delight and impress with releases such as “girasoul“, his most recent, establishing himself as a leading artist in rap and experimental music.
