SLANDER Flips Above & Beyond’s “Always”

Riddim” and “heaven” may not be synonymous, but they go together like never before on SLANDER‘s new remix of Above & Beyond‘s “Always.”

SLANDER amps up the original’s delicate, downtempo instrumentals with a percussive buildup and a melodic, dubby bassline – and the result is both dreamy and dance-worthy. The “Always” remix preserves the beauty of Above & Beyond‘s classic track featuring vocals by Zoë Johnston while giving it a fresh spin that is reminiscent of the vocal, ethereal dubstep of the earlier 2000’s.

This is the second track in which SLANDER has deviated to a melodic sound, following their recent release “Slow Motion” with Bret James. “Always” is SLANDER‘s premiere release on Anjunabeats, and we hope it won’t be their last.

SLANDER first made waves in the scene when they debuted their remix of Showtek‘s “We Like to Party” in 2014, coining their unique sound. However, SLANDER has proven they are capable of so much more than remixes and a singular genre.

The duo made waves with their original productions and an evolved sound, as recently evidenced on “Welcome To The Fire” with Sullivan King, “I Can’t Escape” with SAYMYNAME featuring Feli Ferraro and “Happy Now.” Their ability to produce both bass-heavy headbangers and emotionally stirring melodies distinguishes them as talented, multifaceted producers, not to mention their charismatic stage presence.

Together with NGHTMRESLANDER has made their “Gud Vibrations” event concept into a bonafide lifestyle. In 2018 they sold out their Miami Music Week’s Gud Vibrations Boat Party in less than 3 minutes, and continue to branch out and grow their brand.

NGHTMRE and Pell Join Forces For ‘Magic Hour’ EP

Renowned producer NGHTMRE and acclaimed artist Pell join the forces of bass music and hip-hop in their new collaborative Magic Hour EP, released on Diplo‘s Mad Decent.

Featuring two tracks, “Swiss” and “Lights Low,” the EP crosses both genres and moods, combining sensual basslines and provocative lyrics in the bedroom-ready “Lights Low” and then lightening the mood with the feel-good, party-ready vibes of “Swiss.” “Magic Hour” is on trend with the recent movement of fusing bass music and hip-hop, but NGHTMRE and Pell aren’t two that create cookie-cutter music – the tracks are crafted with the sophistication and unique musical soundscapes of artists who are masters at their craft.

To take the immersion one step further, NGHTMRE and Pell filmed a two-part music video for the Magic Hour EP in Japan, where the vivid scenery of the rural pink moss blooms and the neon lights of Tokyo set a stunning backdrop for the EP’s different styles. Through a lens of vibrant, glowing colors and trippy simulations, the video follows Pell, accompanied by NGHTMRE, through a metaphorical transformation to tell the story of ambition, sacrifice, and the duality of life.

NGHTMRE has taken his spot as one of the leading bass producers in the scene through his meticulously earth-shattering productions and equally electrifying live performances. He has been ubiquitous for the past several years through a slew of successful releases, from 2015’s instant hit “Gud Vibrations” to his recent “Another Dimension” collaboration with Dillon FrancisNGHTMRE has been on fire in 2018 thus far, with a massive remix of Flosstradamus‘s “MVP“, a mainstage performance at the iconic EDC Las Vegas, and an Asia tour including EDC ChinaEDC Japan, and Creamfields Beijing.

While NGHTMRE has been a household name in the electronic music world, Pell has been rising in another circuit. When he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina at just fourteen years old, all Pell had to hold on to was the New Orleans-style music he had grown up with. This love quickly translated into a blossoming career; his independently released “Floating While Dreaming” put him on the grid with rave reviews. From there on, Pell continued to delight and impress with releases such as “girasoul“, his most recent, establishing himself as a leading artist in rap and experimental music.

JAUZ AND KIIARA DROP ‘DIAMONDS’

On the heels of Jauz’s most recent smashes “Gassed Up” (with DJ Snake), “Keep The Rave Alive” (with Lazer Lazer Lazer), “MotherF*ckers” (with Snails) and a remix of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s “One Kiss,” the LA-based producer is back with his biggest track to date – a collaboration with Multiplatinum recording artist KIIARA on “Diamonds”

Jauz shows great finesse here, crafting his instrumental around a deep bass sound that perfectly pairs with KIIARA’s delicate vocal. It provides fans with yet another hint at what’s in store for Jauz’s music anticipated artist album which is on the horizon.

“Diamonds” features Kiiara’s heavenly vocals along with Jauz’s deep house and hip-hop beats, making it the perfect balance of smooth and sexy.

Jauz has been on a roll lately with new release after new release, all in anticipation for his full album drop, which is coming soon. The song gives fans a peek inside that to expect with the producer’s upcoming album.

The DJ went to Twitter to share that “this song is probably one of the most stand-out records from the album, in my opinion, just because of how “out there” for me it is. My favorite part of writing this album was getting to find a voice for songs like this.”

When the track finally dropped, Jauz expressed that this track is “one of the songs I’m most proud of on the album. Can’t wait for you guys to hear it!”

Jauz’s new album still doesn’t have a release date, but hopefully this new release is a sign that he will be dropping the album soon.

NICKY ROMERO DELIVERS REMIX FOR AFROJACK AND JEWELZ & SPARKS’ LATEST SINGLE, ‘ONE MORE DAY’

Emerging just in time to turn this year’s flurry of next-level festivals into even more of a scene-defining escapade, Nicky Romero unleashes his remix treatment onto the new single of Afrojack and German duo Jewelz & Sparks. Premiered by the Wall Recordings head honcho himself (Afrojack) at EDC Las Vegas and played as the final track of his live set at The Flying Dutch last weekend, Nicky Romero’s remix adds a fresh scent of magic to their latest offering, ‘One More Day.’

Right in time to blow this summer’s festivals off their hinges, Nicky Romero provides dance music lovers with a wonderful and above all blistering rendition. Turning ‘One More Day’ into a super-addictive Progressive House masterpiece, the Dutchman proves again why he’s widely considered one of dance music’s top acts.

The main man behind Protocol Recordings and a mainstay in DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 DJs poll, Nicky Romero is one of the artists who’ve put dance music on the map across the world. Judging by the massive success of singles such as ‘Sober’ (over 32 million streams on Spotify), ‘Iron’, ‘Legacy’ (both than 20 million streams on Spotify) and – of course – ‘I Could Be The One’ (with Avicii – close to 200 million streams on Spotify), the young Dutchman has mastered the art of creating globally acclaimed super hits. His remix of Afrojack and Jewelz & Sparks’ ‘One More Day’ fits the bill for the full 100% in that regard.
