Galantis Drops ‘The Aviary’ Album On Big Beat Records

Swedish duo, Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklow, also known as Galantis, are famous for their tracks “Peanut Butter Jelly” and “Runaway (U&I),” which has earned Grammy nominations for “Best Dance Recording” and “best Remixed Recording” via the Kaskade remix. They’ve performed at world-wide events such as Ultra, EDC, Coachella, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Creamfields and more.

While their 2014 debut album, The Pharmacy, received a lot of praise, they are receiving fire reviews on their latest album, The Aviary, which came together in a constant touring climate. Fans and music critics everywhere are raving that the album is “mesmerizing,” “Smooth with sweet vocals perfectly blend for a performance that will have you showing off your best two-step,” and “catchy.” The key to their artistry’s evolution occurred while embracing change. Karlsson points to an epiphany he had while visiting an actual aviary in Hong Kong that helped inspire the new album’s namesake.

The album is now available via Big Beat Records, and is partnered with a U.S. tour. Stops include Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin and more. Galantis’ latest track, “Girls On Boys” featuring Rozes, which debuted at a YouTube live stream in New York City, is also featured on the album.

To celebrate release week, Galantis teamed up with Postmates for a sold out show in San Francisco, which marks the first time Postmates has ever teamed up with an artist for a live performance. The group also celebrated their official album release party at Marquee in New York City.

ESH Takes Us “Higher” Featuring Chris Burke

After gaining a mass appeal from his future house rendition of Maroon 5‘s “This Summer is Going to Hurt,” Austrian DJ and producer, Phillip Bourdouli, better known as ESH, continued his momentum with his acclaimed deep house track, “Far Away” featuring Nathan and “My Favorite Game” featuring Chelsea Collins.

ESH has also produced some of the most popular remixes for Galantis, Vice, Jasmine Thompson and The Chainsmokers. Just coming off the success of his latest singles, ESH is back with another crowd pleaser called, “Higher,” which is an impressive deep house anthem. The track features Chris Burke’s soulful vocals, and perfectly showcases the producer’s melodic and inventive sound. The deep house tune is packed with tropical house vibes, blending wonderful chords with subtle piano, making it a feel good summer dance track.

With support from artists like Borgore, Dirty South, New World Sound, Mr. Belt and Wezol, ESH has gained a mass fan base with over two million global plays and over 18,000 Spotify monthly followers. “Higher” is now out on FYE Music.

The single features a heavy middle eastern vibe in drop, staccato string elements paired with smaller brass instruments, keeping their Bollywood roots. Fans are treated to Yasmine rapping in the first half of the song, combined with the hip hop influence from Bennett. The trap track was first premiered at Tomorrowland during Krewella’s set, and the fans have been begging for its release ever since.

REZZ Releases Debut Album ‘Mass Manipulation’

Rezz has grown to be one of the most popular Bass/Trap DJs in the electronic music scene, and at just such a young age, she’s already accomplished a lot.

The 22-year-old DJ started producing in 2013 and quickly boomed into one of the hottest female producers in the EDM scene. Some of her biggest influences are deadmau5, who eventually signed her after discovering her online. She also finds inspiration from Gesaffelstein, Alesia, Amon Tobin, Eskmo, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights and many more.

After teasing her fans by dropping singles such as “Relax” and “Diluted Brains” from her debut album, REZZ has finally released Mass Manipulation. After spending years studying psychology and music production at him in Niagara Falls, the album is the product of many happy accidents.

A study in hypnosis, influence and the mesmeric nature of music experience, this opus is an astonishing first offering from someone who only opened Ableton three years ago. In that short time, REZZ has already garnered considerable support from the likes of Billboard, Mixmag and Dancing Astronaut, and has played coveted slots at festivals including Ultra, EDC and Bonnaroo. With a sound that has been likened to French superstars Gesaffelstein and Justice, she has broken through the underground, landing on international stages.

“‘Mass Manipulation’ is a commentary on how easily our minds can become manipulated by the things we consume in society. We consume heavily through the media, which, in turn, tries to curate our thoughts and dictate how we as humans are supposed to live and behave. This album plays off this idea and invites people to become hypnotized, allowing their brains to be manipulated by my music in the hope they might see things through a new perspective (perhaps an outer world viewpoint). One where everyone is free from the unrealistic expectations planet earth has drawn for them. A world of acceptance and hypnosis,” revealed REZZ.

Through experimenting with heavy bass samples and unusual melodies, and collaborating with emergent producers 13, Knodis and Kotek, REZZ found she had eight powerful tracks she wanted to share. The eerie speech at the start of “Relax” seduces the listener into an intensely sinister, but altogether alluring state of inertia as we prepare to enter this truly mind-altering body of work. With the powerful kicks of “Diluted Brains,” the menacing, bass-driven “Premonition,” and the exotic flourishes in “Drugs!” REZZ infiltrates the minds of her listeners.

“Synaesthesia” expounds on the dub-heavy sounds heard in the previous track, a theme that is, through the heavy, subdivided beats in “Livid” and “Green Gusher,” manipulated slowly to bring the soundscape more within the grasps of experimental techno. With “Ascension,” the listener is brought rudely back to consciousness; this track is the amalgamation of everything that’s come before it, yet strangely distorted and warped, reflecting the transitional nature of hypnosis.

Electric Zoo 2017 Presents Elrow Bollywood

Electric Zoo is coming back to New York City on Randall’s Island for the city’s largest music festival this Labor Day weekend, and it looks like they have a lot of exciting things planned. One of the Hottest Party brands emerging from Europe right now is coming to one of the Big Apple’s largest electronic dance music festivals.

The festival, which will take place September 1-3, is themed “The 6th Boro,” is introducing elorw, the legendary party series produced by Spain’s Arnau family since the 1800’s, and is one of the most beloved dance music institutions in all of Europe. The Arnau family’s 140-odd year history of throwing parties, and legacy for entering transcends generations making elrow one of electronic music’s most infectious and compelling stories. This Labor Day weekend on Sunday, September 3, elrow’s Bollywood spectacular dance party returns to NYC’s longest running and largest EDM festival, marking its only North American event this year.

In a kaleidoscopic explosion of color, elrow bring the theatrical flamboyance of the cinematic movement to the 6th Boro. Party goers can expect a mind-blowing set, Indian emboroidery, incense, belly-dancers and snake charmers all set around a spectacular Taj Mahal. Artists playing the stage include Thomas Jack, Claptone, The Black Madonna, De La Swing, Marc Maya and a B2B set with ALX and Charles Meyer.

Electric Zoo’s Hilltop Arena will be transformed into an exotic paradise, as stilt-walking Bhangra dancers and larger-than-life performers keep the 6th Boro citizens on their toes with plenty of surprises from elrow’s special guest DJs and residents. Electric Zoo will be the only place stateside fans can experience this special happening.

Elrow’s penchant for inflatable flair, custom confetti and bold imagery makes them a colorful outlier in the stoic world of underground clubbing. Last summer, elrow made an undeniable mark on the scene with a ten week sold-out run at Space Ibiza. This summer elrow hold a residency at Ibiza’s No. 1 nightclub Amnesia and is selling more tickets than any other show on the island.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and David Guetta Team Up With “Complicated” ft. Kiiara

With a string of hit singles under their name, such as “Higher Place” and “Hey Baby,” Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have hit No. 1 spots in Billboard Magazine’s Dance Charts. They’ve also collaborated with the music industry’s hottest artists such as Ne-Yo, Diplo, Martin Garrix Steve Aoki and many more. Now, the duo got together with another big producer, David Guetta for a hot new track.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have signed a long-term deal with Epic Amsterdam, the international label of Sony Music Entertainment Netherlands, and will be releasing their newest single, “Complicated” featuring Kiiara along with David Guetta, on July 28. The Belgian brothers have crafted an irrefutable stylistic party anthem that is sure to be another chart climbing hit for all parts of this collaborative effort.

“We’re really excited to have signed with Sony Music. The label is one of the most iconic identities in the history of the music industry and has been a driving force behind so many musical figures across rock, pop, hip hop and more recently electronic music. It’s a proud moment for us to be joining the lineage of Sony Music artists,” said Dimitri Vegas.

Guetta and Kiiara both bring their indubitable style and feel to “Complicated,” and with Dimitri and Mike’s impact, the track segues between a festival-ready crowd-chanting anthem and a unavoidable drive time radio hit.

“Our focus has always been about reactivity as we strive to create exciting dance records that we and our fans love,” said Like Mike. “On one hand, we fill stadiums and reach fans in-person with live spectacles that we grow with new elements each time, but on the other hand we’re also creating a long-lasting irrefutable dance anthems that fill the radio charts across the globe.”

Rezz Releases “Diluted Brains” From Debut Album

Rezz has grown to be one of the most popular Bass/Trap DJs in the electronic music scene, and at just such a young age, she’s already accomplished a lot.

The 22-year-old DJ started producing in 2013 and quickly boomed into one of the hottest female producers in the EDM scene. Some of her biggest influences are deadmau5, who eventually signed her after discovering her online. She also finds inspiration from Gesaffelstein, Alesia, Amon Tobin, Eskmo, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights and many more.

After recently releasing her single, “Relax,” earlier this month with a tantalizing music video to match, Rezz, who is also known as Space Mom to her fans, is back with another single, “Diluted Brains.” The track is the second single from her upcoming debut album Mass Manipulation, which is slated to released on August 4 on mau5trap.

Constantly honing and perfecting of her enigmatic, bass driven, and minimal sound has attracted a cult of its own, and “Diluted Brains” doesn’t stray from this winning blueprint. As Rezz likes to describe her sound, it’s a “weird industrial bassy low paced and super rhythm based music.” Incorporating powerful kicks, syncopated percussion and rumbling synths to drive the track home, this latest offering is a testament to Rezz’s impressive commitment to quality and production value as she continues to test and push the boundaries of the electronic music scene.

With exclusive merchandise to pair with this particular release and colossal worldwide tour in the books, it’s looking like 2017 is quickly shaping up to be a big year for the Canadian prodigy.

Rezz recently announced a major world tour called “Mass Manipulation,” and will hitting cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Baltimore, New York, El Paso, Mumbai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Las Vegas, Seattle, and many more.

SoundCloud Lays Off Employees And Closes Offices

SoundCloud was one of the fastest growing music streaming platforms and most influential musicians released a lot of music on it. Now, it is shrinking, and faces a harsh future in the online music market. Closing offices in London and San Francisco, SoundCloud has reportedly laid off nearly half it’s workforce, letting go 40% of it’s staff. According to CEO Alexandra Ljung, this move will ensure its “long-term, independent success.”
“By reducing our costs and continuing our revenue growth, we’re on a our path to profitability and in control of SoundCloud’s independent future,” said Ljung in a blog post.

There has been speculation spreading throughout the music industry that SoundCloud might be for sale at a value lower than the $1 billion it has sought in the past. SoundCloud has become a streaming giant with 175 million regular users, making it one of the most popular music sites in the world, but it also faced pressure from record labels to sign licensing deals and develop a paid subscription model to compete with Spotify and Apple Music.

Executives feel that the lay-offs is part of a strategic plan to “cost cutting, continued growth of [their] existing advertising and subscription revenue streams, and a relentless focus on our unique competitive advantage – artists and creators.” Ljung revealed that 173 staffers were let go with those remaining shifted into the Berlin and New York offices.  There have been serious and widely reported problems including losses verging on $100 million from 2014 to 2015, but SoundCloud executives claim they have a “strong outlook for 2017.”

“We are extremely grateful for the contributions of each and every staff member who will be leaving SoundCloud, and we wish all of them the best,” said Ljung. “Without them, we would not be where we are today. [SoundCloud will] continue to be the place for what’s new, now and next in music.”
