Borgore Drops New Track “Coco Puffs”

In the wake of the incredible Blasphemy world tour, Asaf Borger is already setting his eyes on the prize for 2018. Widely known by his stage name Borgore, the man who ruined dubstep is back and ready to dominate the new year.

“Coco Puffs” is what Borgore fans have been waiting for with his reputable sound design and genre-bending techniques. The entirety of the song is a beguiling trek; beginning with a light introduction, Borgore fans already know exactly what they’re in for. Aggressive levels of tantalizing bass lines, illustrative lyricism, and bone-sawing synths amalgamate into a well blended, everlasting masterpiece. “Coco Puffs” calls attention to Borgore’s one-of-a-kind structure intricacy and detail; the meticulous sound design found in the composition of “Coco Puffs” is difficult to find in the oversaturated field of bass music, setting this release far apart from the rest. Out now on Borgore’s very own Buygore Records, “Coco Puffs” is set to be another Borgore classic.

Ever wake up cotton-mouthed, feverish and naked wrapped in a shower curtain as you lay in the fetal position inside of a bathtub knowing you probably did some morally questionable things while simultaneously wondering where the hell your girlfriend is at? She probably went home with Borgore after the club last night. Epitomizing the hashtag #NoFucksGiven, the Israeli-born master of musical mayhem, government name Asaf Borger, has been ravaging electronic culture one bass-heavy, booty-clapping bonanza at a time. His decade-long scroll of accomplishments include heading up his own successful label, Buygore Records, headlining sold out shows to record-breaking crowds at iconic events such as Tomorrowland, Made In America, Ultra and EDC Las Vegas, a weekly internationally syndicated SiriusXM radio series ‘The Borgore Show’, and a milieu of collaborative bangers alongside fellow ratchet cohorts like Miley Cyrus, Waka Flocka Flame and Diplo. Hailed as one of the most mind-melting dubstep artists of his generation, the 27-year-old classically trained producer, songwriter, and DJ’s sonic evolution has been as enticing as his surreal multi-sensory show productions.

As a fearless boundary buster, Borgore has deconstructed the stereotype of what a musician should be by blending his bass, trance, hip hop and dubstep influences with his compositional education from Tel Aviv’s world renowned Thelma Yellin music academy. Unlike most electronic acts whose stagnant big room sounds barely make it past the press release abyss, Borger’s initial standout releases like 2009’s Ice Cream Mixtape and 2010’s Borgore Ruined Dubstep Pt. 1 & Pt. 2 made him an early frontrunner in the dubstep scene.

With an ever-expanding global soundscape, there is an unlimited reserve of new sounds and up-and-coming artists from around the world. Buygore Records’ Fresh Blood sub-label has welcomed some of the underground bass music scene’s most promising of 2017; as we begin the new year, it feels more than fitting to expand the Fresh Blood roster for a hidden gem from South Africa. Operating under the moniker Jon Casey, our next release gives listeners a palatable sampling of tunes that reflect his inner maestro in his forthcoming ‘6 Caliber’ EP.

The forthcoming ‘6 Caliber’ project is the first of its kind on the Fresh Blood imprint. Straying away from the typical dubstep-centric releases, Jon Casey’s four-track installment introduces a variety of rap-infused, experimental-style beats from the underground. Each track on the EP enfolds another facet of Jon Casey’s production skillset. “Flexin’” featuring LA-based rapper Macntaj gives ‘6 Caliber’ a robust preamble, fusing together elements of hip-hop, rap, and freeform trap rhythms. Jon Casey’s ‘6 Caliber’ is also home to three new collaborators. Featuring Philadelphia-based hip hop artist Abrax Phaeton on the bass heavy track entitled “Get Right”, as well as Jetset and Magmag on “Chainsaw”, it is clear that Casey’s skillfulness reaches new heights with every release.

Hailing from Pretoria, South Africa, Casey’s ‘6 Caliber’ EP is set to be the first Fresh Blood release of the new year. The self-taught bedroom music producer may only be 21-years-old, but he is entering 2018 with a promising start. After bringing his unique sound design from South America to the U.S., Jon Casey does not disappoint in his forthcoming Fresh Blood release.

Snugs – “Radio Silence” feat. HAILZ

Introducing Snugs: A conceptual music project that is just as much an ethos and story as a DJ/producer duo. Spearheaded by a lovable but mischievous character, Snugs encapsulates everything related to comfort, creativity and the bedroom.

Snugs’ music is launching to the world with a debut on Proximity, the new label headed by the massively popular YouTube channel of the same name. Their first single “Radio Silence” is a brilliantly crafted electronic-pop hit, resembling the budding crossover between the electronic and pop realms that has been led by artists like Louis The Child and Jack Ü. The single perfectly characterizes Snugs’ sound, rife with bright, danceable energy; soaring synths; and cute but cheeky fills. The production lays an ideal groundwork for a fittingly pop-conscious vocal melody by HAILZ, a vocalist with recent hit releases on Spinnin’ Records.

Not just releasing their music in a vacuum, Snugs have accompanied their debut with a host of other components, including a lyric video, an accompanying story for the track, and an unveiling of a physical stuffed animal created from the Snugs character. Below is the story behind Radio Silence, giving a first glimpse into Snugs’ world:

She tapped her finger nervously on the side of the illuminated screen. Her words in a wall of blue text screaming back at her. She shifted uncomfortably in her bed not able to find a comfortable position. It had been exactly seven hours since his last response. In her desperation she cries out for comfort with all her might…

In that moment Snugs was listening. An omniscient and benevolent being, he rushes to action and appears at the foot of her bed.

“Who are you?” the girl asked.

“Hello there. I am snugs. I heard your cry for help.”

“Did he send you?”

“Can you make him respond to me?”

“Well then what good are you to me?”

“I cannot make your problems disappear, but I can be here through times of need. We all get frustrated sometimes when it feels like we are being ignored. Sometimes the best things to do is just to let it allllll go. Our lives and happiness are not dependent on other people. We create our own comfort. Now grab a blanket, throw a pillow, get up on your bed and dance!”

Diplo Admits Skrillex’s New Album Is In The Works

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard about any new projects from Skrillex. His last EP, Leaving, released about half a decade ago, and four years since his debut studio album, Recess.

However, now it looks like the producer is returning with anew surprise after splitting from Jack U. In a recent interview with Argentine newspaper La Nacion, Diplo revealed that Skrillex is working on a new album.

“Skrillex is working on a new album. I think that after that and the new album that we are preparing with Major Lazer, we will make music together again,” said Diplo.

Not only can fans expect some new music in 2018, but it also sounds like Diplo and Skrillex are planning to revive Jack U.

When Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Steve Aoki first combined forces for the most epic supergroup ‘3 Are Legend’ in dance music, fans knew that expectations for main stage live spectacles and in-studio tracks that slay would be more than surpassed. From smashing ULTRA Miami to Tomorrowland, Creamfields to Ushuaia Ibiza, their presence explodes and entrances in equal measure and now, as a Christmas thank you, the unstoppable trio are giving you, their wildest and dearest fans, a free download of their monster collaboration ‘We Are Legend’.

Some fans might even recognise the featured vocalist, Abigail Breslin. The Oscar nominated star of Little Miss Sunshine, who has also appeared in Hollywood movies Zombieland, Signs, Enders Game and was also cast in August: Osage County, the film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name, alongside Julia Roberts, Benedict Cumberbatch and Meryl Streep. Abigail’s collaboration on the track isn’t her first foray into the world of music, releasing her own album ‘The World Now’ back in 2013, but this is her first time being the feature vocalist on a dance record – and it’s fair to say she has completely made this record her own!

Lookas collaborates with Krewella for “Alarm”

Miami-based producer Lookas has been steadily teasing fans with songs from his forthcoming EP on Monstercat, Lucid, first releasing the track “Eclipse”, a bass-driven banger with dark, wonking rhythms. The second single from the EP, “Alarm” shows a lighter side to the three-track work. Teaming up with dynamic duo Krewella, Lookas embraces a more pop-style production with “Alarm”, as the tunes nostalgic guitar strums lead into a smooth drop of hi-hats and sharp pumps of bass. “Alarm” also marks Lookas’ first vocal track since releasing his four-time platinum hit “GDFR” alongside Flo Rida and Sage the Gemini back in 2015.

Lookas has been an impressive talent in the dance music world since his introduction, rising as a self-taught producer in 2013 and immediately having his remix of “Tsunami” by DVBBS and Borgeous picked up as an official remix. Having been named a Top 10 Act to Watch by Rolling Stone and a Top 10 Rising Artist by Billboard, Lookas continues to show audiences what he’s made of. Fans have yet to see all of the phenomenal tricks up Lookas’s sleeve, but each release from his EP on Monstercat, Lucid can give just a little taste on the punch he’s packing.

Chicago-bred and LA-based act Krewella are no strangers to working with Lookas or Monstercat. Lookas produced their recent single “Be There,” proving the already existing synergy among the artists, meanwhile Monstercat has been home to Krewella’s early successful single “Killin’ It” and “Superstar” with Pegboard Nerds & NGHTMRE. The duo just wrapped up their North American ‘New World’ tour, which took on nearly 30 cities by storm with support from Crankdat, Party Favor, Shaun Frank, Unlike Pluto, Wavedash and more.
