Snails Shells Out A New Remix Album

The Vomitsquad is excited to hear even more bass-heavy music from their favorite DJ/producer, Snails. Just when we thought The Shell album couldn’t get any better, it just did. Snails recently dropped a new remix albumin Sept. 14th, giving a whole new spin to The Shell, making each song stand out on its own incredible way.

For The Shell: Remixes album, Snails invited some of the best bass/dubstep producers in the scene, and his fellow artists such as Kill The Noise, Virtual Riot, Funtcase, Space Jesus, Svdden Death and many others, to create their own spin on his debut LP. All fo them delivered their own interpretations of Snails’ original tracks off of the album, which originally released on Oct. 20th, 2017.

The entire 12-track album went cohesively together to give the listener a great experience, and now the remix album, which features 10 remixes, just turned it way up. Other producers such as Soltan, Kompany & Ivory, UBUR, Megalodon and Mastadon were invited by Snails to help create the large compilation of non-stop energy. These producers have been making a big name for themselves, pushing the boundaries of bass music with every single release.

The Canadian DJ has managed to rise above the pack with an unmistakable sound called “Vomitstep,” working tirelessly to provide his fans with dirty bass lines, trap rhythms and off-kilter sounds. He didn’t disappoint bass lovers by packing his album with shrill, abrasive wobbles, skittering percussion and explosive bass. The Shell: Remixes album is definitely a project that will have you headbanging from beginning to the end.

Bro Safari and UFO! Unveil Part 1 of Their Experimental ‘Clockwork’ Album

After giving fans a sample of their upcoming album project with the release of “N.U.M.B.,” Bro Safari and UFO! are ready to unveil the full first selection of music. The three-track “Clockwork (Pt. 1)” is experimental bass music at its finest, packed with wonky, out of this world wubs.

“Clockwork (Pt. 1)” ignites with “N.U.M.B.,” which gave fans of a taste of the intergalactic magic that was to come from the two powerhouse producers. “Inaccessible” takes listeners a step deeper, beginning with an eerie vocal buildup that leads to a trippy drop filled with spacey melodies. The trifecta concludes with the mystifying “Break the Curse,” a dynamic track that transports fans deep into the realms of the galaxy through its dark loops and synths.

With themes of science fiction and space exploration, the unique Clockwork album in its entirety connects the constellation dots between avant-garde bass and other leftfield sounds with a conceptual listening journey through the artist’s personal musical influences. The rest of Clockwork will be released in discrete segments over the next few weeks; more pieces of the puzzle will come together soon.

Bro Safari and UFO! will be unveiling their new approach to bass music with a tour, set to hit intimate clubs across North America this fall. Be on the lookout for dates.

Lycoriscoris releases “Flight” From Upcoming Anjunadeep album

Tokyo’s Yunosuke Senoo aka Lycoriscoris presents “Flight,” the title track off his upcoming Anjunadeep EP. In recent years Lycoriscoris has developed a reputation as one of Japan’s most exciting young producers, releasing two albums on local indie label Moph Records and performing live alongside acts like The Field and Mortiz Von Oswald at Tokyo’s legendary Dommune.

With influences ranging from the dreamy soundscapes of Boards Of Canada, to the jazzy glitch of Shigeto, Senoo’s subtle fusion of organic melodies and futuristic electronic production has won support from the likes of DJ Koze and Michael Mayer, who released his ’Transient EP’ on Kompakt sub-label KX in 2015. Senoo made his debut on Anjunadeep in 2016, contributing a track to the iTunes #1 Dance Album ‘Anjunadeep 08’, before following up with the 6-track ‘Drop EP’ in 2017 which has since notched up 1 million streams.

Flight is the latest in a string of notable artist albums released on leading electronic label Anjunadeep, following on from Moon Boots’ debut LP First Landing which topped the KCRW album chart and picked up over 50 BBC Radio plays, Cubicolor’s Brainsugar which has amassed 32 million streams, and Tuesday Maybe, the sixth album from legendary duo Way Out West which topped the UK Dance Album chart.

The Flight LP is set for release digitally and on vinyl on Friday 25th May 2018 via Anjunadeep.

Galantis Drops ‘The Aviary’ Album On Big Beat Records

Swedish duo, Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklow, also known as Galantis, are famous for their tracks “Peanut Butter Jelly” and “Runaway (U&I),” which has earned Grammy nominations for “Best Dance Recording” and “best Remixed Recording” via the Kaskade remix. They’ve performed at world-wide events such as Ultra, EDC, Coachella, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Creamfields and more.

While their 2014 debut album, The Pharmacy, received a lot of praise, they are receiving fire reviews on their latest album, The Aviary, which came together in a constant touring climate. Fans and music critics everywhere are raving that the album is “mesmerizing,” “Smooth with sweet vocals perfectly blend for a performance that will have you showing off your best two-step,” and “catchy.” The key to their artistry’s evolution occurred while embracing change. Karlsson points to an epiphany he had while visiting an actual aviary in Hong Kong that helped inspire the new album’s namesake.

The album is now available via Big Beat Records, and is partnered with a U.S. tour. Stops include Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin and more. Galantis’ latest track, “Girls On Boys” featuring Rozes, which debuted at a YouTube live stream in New York City, is also featured on the album.

To celebrate release week, Galantis teamed up with Postmates for a sold out show in San Francisco, which marks the first time Postmates has ever teamed up with an artist for a live performance. The group also celebrated their official album release party at Marquee in New York City.

Exclusive: Steve Aoki Previews Kolony Album in Miami

Grammy-nominated DJ/producer, Steve Aoki, is getting ready to launch his upcoming album, Kolony, on July 21. As he performs around the world, the king of caking has been teasing fans with sneak peeks with tracks from his new project.

Aoki recently make a stop in Miami at club Story on June 30 and he had the crowd going with tracks from his upcoming album such as “Without You,” and his recently released single, “LIT,” with Yellow Claw featuring Gucci Mane and T-Pain. The chorus for “LIT” features T-Pain invoking Queen’s “We Are The Champions” and Gucci Mane rounds it out with a verse.

Story, which is located in South Beach, was packed from the front to the back with fans jumping and singing along to the lyrics of Aoki’s tracks such as “Just Hold On” featuring Louis Tomlinson and “Turbulence.”

It wouldn’t be a Steve Aoki party without a lot of cake! The DJ smacked six lucky fans in the face with a large sheet of vanilla cake while his popular track, “Cake Face” played.

Aoki released his first single “Without U” with DVBBS featuring 2 Chainz from his upcoming album. Another track called “Night Call” captured the audience’s attention with rap’s hottest trio Migos featuring Lil Yachty, which is also featured on Kolony. The album is an amalgamation of party-cranking tracks that stretch across the boundaries between EDM and rap music, landing on something in between and adding supplemental flavor.

This project marks Aoki’s first full turn into rap music, with nearly 10 years of hip-hop collaborations, which he describes as “bridging the gap” between genres.
