Snails To Release A Comic Book “The Sluggernaut”

Here’s a first and unusual piece of news for the EDM scene, one of Bass’ big producers, Snails, is releasing the first issue in his The Shell comic book series in Marvel-like style, called “The Sluggernaut.” The comic book will provide a glimpse into the creative universe that fuels the Montreal-based artist’s music and live performances. The team includes Snails (co-writer), Maria Filippone (co-writer) and French artist Dr. Fanx (penciller, inker and colorist).

Just a few weeks after announcing his newest “Slimeageddon” EP, Snails has announced another massive milestone in his prolific career: the launch of his very own comic book series, The Shell, and its debut issue The Sluggernaut. Through its vivid imagery and captivating storylines, The Sluggernaut provides a glimpse into the creative universe that fuels the Vomitstep producer’s music and live event concepts. Snails teamed up with French artist Dr. Fanx and co-writer Maria Filipone to bring the Vomitsquad’s colorful world – including King Slugz, King Frogz, Sluggtopia and The Shell – to life in Marvel-like style. On the surface, The Sluggernaut’s plot may seem like it’s all about King Slugz’s intergalactic, worm-fighting battles, but Snails has a much deeper meaning behind the series. At its core, The Sluggernaut is the story of a flawed hero desperate to save his people, and its theme centered on perseverance in the face of tremendous obstacles.Through the engage plotlines and immersive art, Snails creatively conveys his believe that one has an obligation to fulfill one’s own destiny.

“My music and shows have always been attached to a story. Frogz, King Slugz, Sluggtopia and The Shell are all part of a bigger vision – one that hasn’t been fully explained … until now. Super proud to announce that The Sluggernaut comic book will be released on November 26th. Check out the first 11 pages and pre-order your physical copy for the full story!” Said Snails.

Snails has had a massive year by any means of measurement: he released a full length remix album of his cult favorite “The Shell,” launched his own record label Slugz Music, and rounded out 2018 with a massive North American tour featuring an awe-inspiring, mind-bending holographic stage dubbed “The Shell 2.0.” His “Vomitstep” sound first found a home on the praised label OWSLA and has led him to work alongside figures like Skrillex, Diplo and more. Then, Snails created Slugz Music as a home for his music and others’ that is as outrageous as they want it to be. Now with the launch of his own comic book series – a territory previously uncharted in the electronic scene – his accomplishments speak for themselves in demonstrating that Snails is truly an artist with no boundaries. The Sluggernaut is only the beginning of Snails’s The Shell comic book series, so stay tuned for the next chapter of the saga!

Snails Announces Slimeageddon EP Featuring “Snailephant” With Wooli

Snails is truly an artist whose music has no boundaries. His “Vomitstep” sound first found a home on the praised label OWSLA and has led him to work alongside major DJs such as Skrillex, Diplo and more. He recently launched his label, Slugz Music, as a home for his music and others’ that is as outrageous as they want it to be. Now, the “Vomitstep” trailblazer has announced his next EP, Slimeageddon, which will feature his premiere track, “Snailephant.”

The project will drop on his imprint, Slugz Music, and is set to be released later this year. Snails Shells Out A New Remix Album

The Vomitsquad is excited to hear even more bass-heavy music from their favorite DJ/producer, Snails. Just when we thought The Shell album couldn’t get any better, it just did. Snails recently dropped a new remix albumin Sept. 14th, giving a whole new spin to The Shell, making each song stand out on its own incredible way.

For The Shell: Remixes album, Snails invited some of the best bass/dubstep producers in the scene, and his fellow artists such as Kill The Noise, Virtual Riot, Funtcase, Space Jesus, Svdden Death and many others, to create their own spin on his debut LP. All fo them delivered their own interpretations of Snails’ original tracks off of the album, which originally released on Oct. 20th, 2017.

The entire 12-track album went cohesively together to give the listener a great experience, and now the remix album, which features 10 remixes, just turned it way up. Other producers such as Soltan, Kompany & Ivory, UBUR, Megalodon and Mastadon were invited by Snails to help create the large compilation of non-stop energy. These producers have been making a big name for themselves, pushing the boundaries of bass music with every single release.

The Canadian DJ has managed to rise above the pack with an unmistakable sound called “Vomitstep,” working tirelessly to provide his fans with dirty bass lines, trap rhythms and off-kilter sounds. He didn’t disappoint bass lovers by packing his album with shrill, abrasive wobbles, skittering percussion and explosive bass. The Shell: Remixes album is definitely a project that will have you headbanging from beginning to the end.

Funtcase Puts a Grimy Spin on Snails’ ‘Forever’

Everyone’s favorite Vomitstep producer, Snails, is about to drop a remixed version of his debut album “The Shell” – and he’s given us a taste of the utter destruction to come with the release of Funtcase‘s remix of “Forever.” Funtcase rises to the challenge by incorporating a fresh dose of grimy, mechanical synths and face-melting basslines, which gives the producer’s legion of headbanging fans yet another reason to go absolutely wild during his notorious live sets.

I loved writing this remix, the original I was playing for absolutely AGES before release, so I was happy when Snails said I could remix it…hope you enjoy,” stated Funtcase as he unleashes this monster remix to the public.

The “Forever” remix is out on Snails‘s Slugz Music and follows up the label’s much-anticipated first release “Shake the Ground” with Kill the Noise and Sullivan King & Jonah Kay last month.

For his part, Snails has been relatively close-lipped about who else will be featured on the remix album or its exact date of release, but rest assured it will be filled with the gut-wrenching bass and metal sound that has become an underground cult favorite. As for the first remix release, Snails gives it the Vomitstep stamp of approval.

Funtcase‘s remix of ‘Forever‘ from my album ‘The Shell‘ is one of the biggest tracks in my set right now and seriously goes off every time,” he says. “I knew as soon as I sent him the stems, he would destroy it. I’ve been such a fan of his for a long time now and so stoked he put his own spin on this one and could be a part of the remix album.”

For the chance to hear the “Forever” remix in the flesh, head to Snails‘s Sluggtopia showcase at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 5th, where Funtcase will play a special b2b set with Cookie Monsta. Rest assured, this is one you don’t want to miss!
