After dropping title track ‘Rave Culture’ as the very first release of their new label (Rave Culture), W&W have lined up a massive collaboration as its banging follow-up. Their next single, ‘Ready To Rave’, sees the current #14 DJs in the world link up with none other than five-time #1 DJ in the world Armin van Buuren, who recognized the duo’s potential at an early stage and got them to join Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music a whopping ten years back.

Released in the wake of other smashing collaborations such as ‘If It Ain’t Dutch’ and ‘#D Fat’, W&W and Armin van Buuren’s ‘Ready To Rave’ is yet another monster tune bound to crack main stages in half. Judging by its enormous impact and infectious hooks, it’s no wonder this track has been conquering major festivals across the globe all throughout this year’s summer.

Observant fans may have already seen this collaboration coming. At the end of the music video of W&W’s ‘Rave Culture’, Armin van Buuren already played a small cameo role, which hinted toward a possible collaboration between the two globally acclaimed dance music acts in the near future. That moment has arrived today, accompanied by a music video bearing the same futuristic design as its predecessor.

Armin van Buuren: “It’s been such a pleasure to see W&W turn from two young, talented boys into one of the most successful dance music duos of our time. Each time we decide to collaborate, we hit it off instantly and get some amazing results in the studio, just like we did now with ‘Ready To Rave’. This track is definitely meant to get people to go nuts and rave relentlessly wherever in the world they are, so I hope everyone likes what we came up with this time.”

W&W: “When the idea of starting our Rave Culture label crossed our minds, we knew we wanted to center it around records that could really drive a crowd crazy. ‘Ready To Rave’ fits that bill completely, and it’s always nice to hit the studio with someone who has released many of these tunes. It’s been one of the biggest tracks from our live sets this summer, so we’re having high hopes for this one.”

MOOD Records Releases ‘Best of MOOD 2018’ Mixed by Carlo Ruetz

Revisiting some of the year’s biggest tracks in techno, Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD Records presents ‘Best of MOOD 2018,’ mixed by label favorite Carlo Ruetz. Available for digital download December 21 and featuring artwork from mixed media fine artist, Peter Max-Jakobsen, the release comes as only the second compilation from the MOOD Records imprint after surpassing a milestone 50 releases in 2017. Delivering the stomping four track ‘Stormer’ EP this past June — which saw plays from the likes of Adam Beyer and Anja Schneider — Nicole Moudaber taps fast rising star Carlo Ruetz for the label compilation. Highlighting MOOD Records original tracks from Fur Coat, POPOF, Stephan Hinz, and remixes for Moby, Nicole Moudaber and Carl Cox, the 12-track compilation represents the label’s leading take on dance music.

“Carlo Ruetz is a hard working talent from Germany that I’ve had my eyes on for many years; his releases can truly do no wrong. We welcomed him to the MOOD family with his ‘Stormer’ EP in June and he also joined me at MoodZONE at BPM Portugal earlier this year. So naturally I’ve selected him to help me compile and mix the ‘Best of MOOD 2018’ because I knew he would deliver an impressive mix showing his dedication to the craft,” said Nicole Moudaber.

Opening with Wigbert’s “Moonlight,” the nine minute acid saga builds until the rattling percussive beat of Stephan Hinz’s “Conspiracies” takes the lead. Teaming up for their MOOD Records debut, Italian techno maestros ANNA V & M.I.T.A., transport listeners to another dimension with the warping sounds of “Through The Wormhole” followed by the minimal, yet transforming motif from SUDO’s “Abstract.” As the first of his two tracks on the compilation, Carlo Ruetz’s “Surrender” sets the perfect stage for the Truncate peak-hour remix of Nicole Moudaber and Carl Cox’s classic number, “See You Next Tuesday.” Turning to a remix from the MOOD Records label boss herself, Nicole Moudaber crafts a spellbinding, ambient techno atmosphere with her innovative take on Moby’s “Like A Motherless Child” before the compilation goes into overdrive with Venezuelan duo Fur Coat’s “Spiral” and  “Alone In The Dark” from POPOF. The intensity continues with Stephan Hinz’s “Fearless” with its synth hook throughout fading into Sly Faux’s mesmerizing “This Made You.” Rounding out the mix with another of his tracks, Carlo Ruetz stays true to MOOD Records’ dark sound with “Silence.”

It has been another landmark year for the dance music brand Nicole Moudaber conceived nearly six years ago. Continually expanding its influence on today’s biggest names and tomorrow’s future stars, the imprint regularly stands tall in the vast techno-sphere. With her experience as a promoter, Nicole Moudaber’s brand has evolved into event concept takeovers with MoodRAW, which included an iteration at this year’s Official Movement Closing Party and a recent sold out night with Dubfire b3b Nicole Moudaber b3b Paco Osuna at Avant Gardner in Brooklyn. Also taking off on the international festival circuit, her MoodZONE stage takeovers have landed to the forefront of dance music with slots at EDC: Orlando and The BPM Festival: Portugal. After launching her award-winning Mixcloud radio show In The Mood in 2014, Nicole now commands an army of 20 million listeners weekly in 80 countries.

Never one to slow down, Moudaber, who fronts the cover of DJ Mag North America’s December issue, will close out the year in Los Angeles on December 28 at Avalon, MoodRAW in Miami on December 29, New Year’s Eve 2019 at Montréal’s Stereo before diving into 2019 on Holy Ship! January 5-9 with her Holy MOOD stage takeover.

Snails To Release A Comic Book “The Sluggernaut”

Here’s a first and unusual piece of news for the EDM scene, one of Bass’ big producers, Snails, is releasing the first issue in his The Shell comic book series in Marvel-like style, called “The Sluggernaut.” The comic book will provide a glimpse into the creative universe that fuels the Montreal-based artist’s music and live performances. The team includes Snails (co-writer), Maria Filippone (co-writer) and French artist Dr. Fanx (penciller, inker and colorist).

Just a few weeks after announcing his newest “Slimeageddon” EP, Snails has announced another massive milestone in his prolific career: the launch of his very own comic book series, The Shell, and its debut issue The Sluggernaut. Through its vivid imagery and captivating storylines, The Sluggernaut provides a glimpse into the creative universe that fuels the Vomitstep producer’s music and live event concepts. Snails teamed up with French artist Dr. Fanx and co-writer Maria Filipone to bring the Vomitsquad’s colorful world – including King Slugz, King Frogz, Sluggtopia and The Shell – to life in Marvel-like style. On the surface, The Sluggernaut’s plot may seem like it’s all about King Slugz’s intergalactic, worm-fighting battles, but Snails has a much deeper meaning behind the series. At its core, The Sluggernaut is the story of a flawed hero desperate to save his people, and its theme centered on perseverance in the face of tremendous obstacles.Through the engage plotlines and immersive art, Snails creatively conveys his believe that one has an obligation to fulfill one’s own destiny.

“My music and shows have always been attached to a story. Frogz, King Slugz, Sluggtopia and The Shell are all part of a bigger vision – one that hasn’t been fully explained … until now. Super proud to announce that The Sluggernaut comic book will be released on November 26th. Check out the first 11 pages and pre-order your physical copy for the full story!” Said Snails.

Snails has had a massive year by any means of measurement: he released a full length remix album of his cult favorite “The Shell,” launched his own record label Slugz Music, and rounded out 2018 with a massive North American tour featuring an awe-inspiring, mind-bending holographic stage dubbed “The Shell 2.0.” His “Vomitstep” sound first found a home on the praised label OWSLA and has led him to work alongside figures like Skrillex, Diplo and more. Then, Snails created Slugz Music as a home for his music and others’ that is as outrageous as they want it to be. Now with the launch of his own comic book series – a territory previously uncharted in the electronic scene – his accomplishments speak for themselves in demonstrating that Snails is truly an artist with no boundaries. The Sluggernaut is only the beginning of Snails’s The Shell comic book series, so stay tuned for the next chapter of the saga!

We’re “Running To You” With Slander and Spag Heddy’s Latest Track

After building a mint name for themselves through jaw-dropping original productions and massive collaboration with acts like Seven Lion and Asking Alexandria, Slander has recently added “label bosses” to their resume. They recently turned their popular Gun Vibrations brand into an official record label with NGHTMRE, but their “gud vibes” are only getting started.

The LA-based duo, teamed up with Spag Heddy on a brand new single featuring singer/songwriter Elle Vee called “Running To You,” which is out now on Monstercat. The 5-minute long single, which is filled with trap and dubstep beats, will be featured on Slander’s forthcoming The Headbangers Ball EP.

Slander are proven masters of fusing melodic and heavy-hitting elements to form divergent soundscapes, and they’re back with “Running To You” in collaborating with Spag Heddy, who is a fellow dubstep producer. The track showcases Vee’s ethereal vocals over a minimal piano melody during the song’s verses, lulling the listener int o a place of serenity; the commotion begins when Slander and Spag Heddy unleash the drop’s stabbing synths and grating mechanical bass lines. With its elements of light and dark, this track will ignite headbanging, thrashing dance floors around the globe.

“‘Running To You’ is finally here! We’ve wanted to work with Spag Heddy for a while now, and finally getting this one done with him was a truly amazing experience. For this song, we tried to blend our sounds together as seamlessly as possible by taking the listener from a deeply emotional moment straight into a heavy one!! We thought this duality of emotion really made the track feel special since it’s very two-faced and doesn’t sit in any traditional genre category. We hope you guys enjoy this rollercoaster! Also, be sure to check out the rest of Spag’s music! He is a mad man!” Said Slander.

“Blame” Party Favor For This Hot New Single With Naïka

As 2018 slowly winds down, Party Favor continues to drop new music, kicking off with his latest single, “Blame,” featuring Miami-based singer/songwriter, Naïka. Party Favor delivers his signature and bass-heavy instrumentals, complementing by the singer’s ephemeral and emotion-filled vocals. The track, which released on Mad Decent, is filled with booming kicks and stadium-sized synths and vocal chops that gives you an in-the-moment vibe.

“This record was such a long time coming,” Party Favor explains, noting the track finally came together once Naïka was brought on board. “The beat for this song was made over a year ago. We tried so many different vocalists/lyrics and finally found the right fit with Naïka. She captures the vibe so perfectly. Really proud of this record and think it’s a great fit for Mad Decent. Excited to be working with them again on another release!”

“Blame” follows Party Favor’s recent “MDR,” which gained 135 million plays on Spotify and Soundcloud, as well as “Circle Up.”

Party Favor has pushed boundaries in the industry, with his music helping the festival trap and twerk scenes rise to unforeseen popularity in dance music, and frequently blurs the boundaries between electronic, rap, reggae, and many other genres. The LA-based producer has worked as a producer for some of the biggest names in the industry including Lil Jon, 2 Chainz, Migos, and ASAP Ferg.

Rhett Releases ‘Hollow Earth’ EP on Mau5trap

Rhett just released a 2-track EP on mau5trap, which features another fellow mau5trap recording artist, ATTLAS, entitled “Crater.”

“‘Hollow Earth’ has a different feel from my previous releases. I ventured in a slightly darker direction, while incorporating organic samples and sounds. As the tracks evolved, I began thinking of them as a soundtrack to Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and tried to bring the sense of exploration into the music,” said Rhett.

The Canadian producer challenges the typical mau5trap sound and brings an industrial, peak time techno vibe with intricate melodies and arpeggios. There’s 2 tracks on the album and it will be his third time releasing on the label.

“It was particularly satisfying to collaborate with my long-time friend ATTLAS on Crater. We’ve been using each other as sounding boards for music since University and it’s been rewarding to produce something together that reflects both our individual styles and tastes,” continued Rhett.

JACKAL’s Drops “In Love With Nobody” On Lowly Palace

UK-born, LA-based artist JACKAL, just dropped his latest track, “In Love With Nobody” on Lowly Palace, which is a follow p to his previously released “Don’t Come Near Me I Am A Monster.” JACKAL has been pretty quiet this year, working on new sound and this new track is a glimpse into his new vision of using his music as an expressive tool.

“‘In Love With Nobody’ is actually a happy track. It comes from the feeling of relief of being independent and having no feelings for anyone. The title is kind of an ode to one of my all time favorite bands The Smiths. I feel like Morrissey would totally name a track ‘In Love With Nobody,’” said JACKAL.

JACKAL is one of electronic music’s most dynamic producers, releasing nearly a dozen mixes and branded himself as a trap mastermind whose heart beats drum and bass. His career kicked off in 2013 with the success of “Shakedown,” a heavy beat-dropping original track with crunchy snares and 808s.

Growing up, the LA-based artist listened to mainly heavy metal, but around the age of 18 started exploring drum and bass, which ultimately led him to study music technology at the University of Canterbury where he began producing his signature punchy rhythms. The rise of Skrillex in 2011 inspired JACKAL to start making music full-time. He’s debut a number of tracks, including a release on Mad Decent with Grandtheft and an original collaboration featuring CRNKN. His music has been supported by other big name artists like Skrillex, Diplo, Zeds Dead, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Kill the Noise.

NGHTMRE and SLANDER Transform Gud Vibrations Into A Record Label

NGHTMRE and Slander have been rapidly rising to the top with a combination of successful solo releases and collaborations with Wiz Khalifa, Asking Alexandria, Dillon Francis, The Chainsmokers and PnB Rock. When they released their original track “Gud Vibrations,” it transformed into a big movement including sold out shows, a lifestyle brand, a radio show and now a record label.

The two major bass producers take the next step in their revolution by turning their Gun Vibrations imprint into a record label, launching with their first single, “Deathwish” by WAVEDASH, which features vocals from fknsyd. The track encapsulates the Gud Vibrations brand with a medley of melodic and heavy elements; breathy vocals in the track’s intro give way to an assaulting array of intense percussion and heavy bass for an sonic journey that feels a little like an apocalyptic version of Romeo & Juliet. WAVEDASH has worked with NGHTMRE and Slander earlier this year on “Grave” and “Move Back,” making the trio a perfect choice for the label’s debut. WAVEDASH is set to become the first portage of Gud Vibrations, with their newest EP, Opening Ceremony, set to be released on the label later this year.

WAVEDASH recently dropped their second single on Gud Vibrations, ”BSTRD” featuring Quest,  which features gritty chords, a piercing bass, and a pulsing energy throughout that melds to form a body-jarring track that will absolutely destroy club rooms around the globe.

Gud Vibrations has many exciting things in the works for 2019, so be sure to keep an eye out on NGHTMRE, Slander and Gud Vibrations as the brand continues to blow up!
