The next Buygore installment introduces a widely-acclaimed face in the realm of freeform bass music. Say hello to Zeke Beats, a heavy weight in experimental sound design hailing from the land down under. The Australian music producer and DJ makes his Buygore Records debut with his new four-track ‘Devastate’ EP, set to be released February 9th, is a testament to his multi-layered, signature style sound design.

This four-track venture calls attention to Zeke Beats attention to detail, taking a formulaic approach to his intricate, experimental production skillset. ‘Devastate’ boasts a dramatic soundscape, featuring low-leveled basslines and high-pitched kicks that come together for a clean, contemporary edge. The EP kicks into high gear with the title track as the preface to the project. Priming listeners for a sonic journey, “Devastate” possesses a darker and harder electronic feel. Enlisting fellow Australian bass music maestro Blanke, the progressive builds in “Chaos” accompany the striking grooves and blaring horn samples perfectly. The concluding track on the EP entitled “Hypnotize” emulates the more playful side of bass music, featuring Shaman, with a rattling, lighthearted beat that showcases his technical talents from one end of the spectrum to the other. The ‘Devastate’ EP will arrive in full force as Zeke Beats announces his forthcoming North American tour. Accompanying the ‘Devastate’ EP, the Australian DJ/producer’s North American Tour will span cities from Atlanta, Georgia to Seattle, Washington.

Bringing bass to life with his analog synth wizardry, Zeke Beats is on a mission to melt faces; one of the game’s best new names, Zeke Beats blends hip-hop and grime influences with his signature analogue basslines for a distinct sound that’s dirty, crunchy and always futuristic. It’s the sort of bass that keeps dance-floors burning and sweat dripping down walls. So no surprise it’s turning heads: labels and electronic A-listers like Bassnectar, DJ Craze, DJ Shadow, Toddla T, G Jones and EPROM have all already thrown him support. The light-speed rise of ZEKE BEATS has happened in less than two years. Since breaking through in 2016 with his Meltdown EP on Terrorhythm Records – a release Bassnectar loved so much he includes an edit of its title track in pretty much all of his sets – Zeke now looks poised
for world domination. He’s signed to Australian booking agency Poster Child and American powerhouse agency Madison House, got airplay on triple j, Rinse FM and BBC Radio, stepped up to mix for Alison Wonderland’s ‘Radio Wonderland’ show on SiriusXM, been named one of 2016’s best breakthrough artists by inthemix, and had routine videos featured on DJ Mag, Your EDM and Run The Trap.

Zeke’s enjoyed a dream run of heavy-hitting releases. 2017 has already seen him top charts with his latest EP Dispatch hitting #1 on the iTunes electronic rankings and being added to coveted Spotify curated playlists. Skrillex’s Nest HQ imprint dug his recent ‘Mars Attack’ VIP so much they stepped up to premiere it, while Zeds Dead released Zeke’s huge tune ‘Yuck’ on their label Dead Beats. He’s not done yet – a new collaboration with Eprom will be out soon. Amidst all that has been some nonstop touring: Zeke’s ticked off no less than four US tours in the last eighteen months, hitting Electric Forest, Bassrush’s Project Z and playing Shambhala two years running – this year stepping up for a surprise back-to-back set with
Eprom that Noiseporn rated the best of the entire festival. Locally he’s been tapped as the lead support for Nero, and recently wrapped up a sold-out Australian headline tour in support of Dispatch that saw him play to audiences up to 5000 at the country’s top clubs and festivals. And Zeke’s not just your regular DJ; his love for hardware comes from his background as a
turntablist superstar, a rare talent that’s seen him rank 4th in the world in the prestigious IDA World Championships and earn the title of Australian DMC Champion, as well as being named Grandmaster Turntablist DJ Qbert’s first ever Scratch University Valedictorian.
